One of my specializations is helping students who feel they are on the verge of dropping a semester because of stress, anxiety, or other difficulties. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, in a crisis or at a crossroads, or in any situation in which 50 minutes of counseling isn't “enough”, an Individual Counseling Retreat may be a good fit. This service was created in part to fill a gap in services between the 50-minute session and going into a hospital or rehab. But it's also intended for anyone who simply wants or needs to go deeper than the typical therapy session. A personal counseling retreat puts therapy into a different context: An inspiring setting with a lot of time outdoors. Time to walk and talk, rather than just sitting, and leverage the healing effect of time in nature. We choose a retreat center or other setting so that the process itself is uplifting and inspiring, both calming and energizing. The impact of getting off the grid and devoting time to re-grouping can't be overstated. The time frame of a multi-day retreat allows a lot of learning and processing in a condensed period of time, with a minimum of distractions. The counseling addresses your difficulties, but also focuses on positive psychology- the skills of thriving and well-being. It also integrates meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and healthy food. The one-to-one counseling allows for truly personalized attention and coaching. It provides the time and space to explore issues in depth, connecting dots and seeing new ways of responding. It's not a magic cure, because nothing is. But it is a unique and highly impactful experience and a powerful commitment to your future well-being. A typical retreat is 3-5 days, and includes mindfulness meditation, stress management skills, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), addiction recovery counselings as appropriate, and other evidence-supported therapeutic frameworks. MBCT focuses on empowering you to understand helpful and unhelpful patterns of thinking and reacting, and grow the positive ones. The work focuses primarily on the here and now, less on lengthy excavation of your past. The overall goal is resourcing you with new skills to better manage the stress and challenges you return to post-retreat. You come away with more than a diagnosis and a medication prescription. The outcome of a retreat is a new understanding of how your mind, nervous system and body interact, and how to ride life's ups and downs with more resilience. You leave with a post-retreat plan of self-care, which includes specific daily practices to support ongoing self-regulation and what you value most: Being your best self. As appropriate, post-retreat follow up with me is available. Clients who bring flexibility of mind- an ability to look at problems in a new way- and who have a love of the outdoors tend to resonate with this work the most. To discuss fees, location options and other logistical matters, email or call. Let's find a plan that works for you!

You deserve a therapist who really sees you, not just your symptoms. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who specializes in anxiety, depression, relationships, and trauma across the lifespan. My approach is warm and collaborative, rooted in evidence-based and trauma-informed practices like CBT and DBT. I also incorporate creativity, mindfulness, and the things that matter to you, whether that’s music, art, sports, or storytelling. Before opening my private practice, I served as the Clinical Program Director of a Community Crisis Stabilization (CCS) unit, where I supported individuals in acute mental health crises. Prior to that, I worked as a Trauma-Focused sports-based clinician and Program Coordinator, integrating play, movement, and expressive arts to help clients heal in ways that felt empowering and culturally responsive. I've also worked with perpetrators and victims of domestic violence and co-authored publications on Alzheimer's research in medical journals. Across every setting, my focus has always been the same: creating a safe, personalized space that focuses on the client's needs. My practice is exclusively telehealth for your convenience and privacy. I welcome adults (18+) seeking meaningful support, not just surface-level solutions. You deserve a space to slow down and feel truly supported. So let’s figure out what works for you together. Please visit my website below to schedule a free 15 minute consultation. Feel free to email or call me with any questions you may have.

I work with individuals who are ready to explore their inner world with curiosity and compassion, whether it’s your first time in therapy or you’re returning to it. My approach is warm, relational, and psychodynamic at its core, meaning we’ll look at how your past shapes the way you think, feel, and connect today. I also integrate practical tools from CBT and DBT to help manage anxiety, depression, and everyday stress, and use mindfulness to support grounding and emotional awareness. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals as well as women experiencing anxiety and/or depression. I’m happy you’ve taken that first step and found your way here. I understand it’s not easy to seek out support. Therapy is unique to each person, but some themes I have noticed people are seeking out are an understanding of their emotions, an improved ability to cope and function and feeling more empowered about their individual situations. I also specialize in and offer years of expertise supporting individuals around issues related to parenting, identity development, LBGTQIA+ identities and life transitions. The space I provide is welcoming, gentle and warm. My approach is person-centered and eclectic at its core. I am thoughtful and attentive in finding ways to make therapy accessible and meaningful. I primarily use talk therapy and am skilled at incorporating creativity, coping skills and mindfulness into my work to make therapy individualized to your needs. My hope for you is that you realize your own strength and ability to be the driving force in determining what success means to you in therapy. I believe in your ability to be your own expert and to find your own strength and awareness to promote your personal growth and healing. I’m here to support you and meet you where you are on life’s journey.

Thank you for considering working with me. I do both therapy and/or medication management. My approach is a team approach where I work collaboratively with you. Even if you have a therapist and need someone for just medication management, I like to get to know you as a whole. I try to avoid making students feel labeled and pressured to start a medication. I strive to make a welcoming environment for all students with diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ students. My private practice is mainly undergraduate and graduate students along with young adults recently in the workforce.

As a therapist, I strive to bring warmth and wits into sessions with my patients. My role is to help people identify patterns that are causing trouble or distress. This process involves not only trying to understand the "root" of the problem, but also looking for ways in which individuals might get stuck in problematic ways of relating to others or thinking about themselves. This can be hard work, but it has the potential to be very rewarding. In my experience, people who engage in therapy often find that old patterns can change, and new choices are able to emerge in their lives. In my previous role as associate director of Boston University's Behavioral Medicine clinic, I worked with a diverse group of undergrad and graduate students. In my current practice, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling academically, or who are taking a leave of absence from college or grad school due to mental health concerns. I also have interests in depression, anxiety, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and spiritual issues. But really, I like working with anyone striving for an examined life. I am not in-network with any insurance plans, but you may be able to use out of network benefits to help pay for the cost of therapy.

Art Therapist

I am currently accepting self-pay clients! During therapy sessions, I hold space for people facing all types of life experiences that encompass our collective human experience. Some key areas that I support individuals with are finding relief from anxiety through the cultivation of self-regulation and nervous system support, navigating major life transitions, healing from traumatic events, past or present, and exploring ways of living that are in alignment with one's true desires. I strive to help individuals build a relationship with themselves that are rooted in compassion and self-acceptance. As our imagination becomes activated and absorbed in the freedom of art and play, our linear or rational thinking processes of labeling and making judgments are temporarily suspended. This temporary suspension allows us to access our intuition (heart, center, wisdom, spirit, true self) and deepen awareness of our thoughts, feelings and experiences in life.
