At Soul Sprout Mindful Care, we are dedicated to helping you and your family achieve Mental Health. We believe that Mental Health is just as important as physical health, and we treat it as such. We are committed to providing therapeutic services including individual outpatient therapy, family outpatient therapy, and couples outpatient therapy. A therapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan, with interventions tailored specifically to your needs. We believe that you should be heard, and we take supporting you very seriously. In the African American community, we are haunted by intergenerational trauma that shapes how we view and operate within the world. By increasing the frequency with which people of color pursue therapy, we work to break the cycle of trauma and aid you in beginning a new family tradition of mental health. We are honored to work to be a part of this change! Our number one priority is the health and safety of our clients. We're working to provide telehealth services via zoom during this COVID crisis.

As your therapist, allow me to support and empower you to overcome a multitude of life circumstances ranging from anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I aim to help my clients discover their own inner peace and spread that tranquility to the world around them. I utilize talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapeutic modalities to help clients conquer mood disorders, improve relationships, cope with trauma, and addressing racial disparities affecting the BIPOC community. You can be managing everything and still not be all right. Anxiety that stays a step ahead of you. Anger that comes out sideways. Overthinking that never resolves anything. A life that still functions but doesn't feel like yours. Name one and the rest tend to follow. The patterns behind this are usually old. They made sense once, and they were how you got through something. Now they arrive before you've decided anything, and they hold on. Noticing them is what loosens them, even when it doesn't feel like progress. How I work is introspective and practical: ACT, CBT, and mindfulness based approaches, shaped by Taoist philosophy. I pay close attention, I don't push, and I say what I notice. This isn't another project to optimize yourself out of. Over time something shifts. You stop bracing so hard. You trust your own read more and need to control less. You get kinder to yourself, which quietly makes you kinder to everyone else. Life stops feeling like something to manage.

The most important factor for effective therapy is the relationship between the therapist and the client. My goal is to build an empathetic and trustworthy relationship with you, so we can work through the issues that are motivating you for treatment in the first place. You are the expert of your own life - I can serve as a guide to help reveal the kind of life you are seeking. Many of us are disappointed by our past decisions, trapped in our current circumstances, or paralyzed with fear of the future. This can lead to behaviors that aren't helpful and create patterns that lead to anxiety, depression, or general unhappiness. Together, we will examine these behaviors, thought patterns, and emotions, and we will work together in finding out what works for you and how to easily engage in helpful and effective behaviors that propel you into the way you want to exist in the world.
