Therapists for college students near Atlanta, GA
Hello! My name is Mike and I have been working as a therapist since I graduated with my Master’s in Applied Clinical Psychology from USC Aiken in 2022. Prior to this I attended The Ohio State University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I have worked as a therapist in a university psychology clinic, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, in the community with children and teens, and currently in the prison system. I feel as though working in these different settings with clients from different backgrounds has helped me be the best therapist possible. Is there a heavy feeling in your chest that you just can't seem to shake? Do you feel stuck? Do you ever feel as if your coping skills are not working or you just don't have the desire to even try anymore? Are you losing sleep because your thoughts are racing? I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals, couples & families. Conditions treated include Anxiety, Trauma, Mood and Personality Disorders, Relationship Challenges, ADHD & Grief and Loss. I have a clinical style that is friendly & collaborative. Having support can help us to weather any storm. Allow me to be your support. We will work together to turn your problems into a plan of action.
Do you feel misunderstood and stuck in your head? Do you feel a desire for change but are lacking direction? Maybe you feel stuck in a relationship, a job, or a state of mind that has left you feeling unsatisfied, anxious, or depressed. As a clinician, I believe that my role is to create a completely non-judgmental space for you to process and grow. The more we can be vulnerable in expressing our true (and sometimes messy) selves, the closer we get to living fully, authentically, and with a sense of ease. I approach every session with an open mind, and a deep sense of compassion for your unique story. I am transparent, collaborative, and am a valuable resource for you on your path towards meaningful change, peace of mind, and personal empowerment. I work with clients ages 18+ who are experiencing ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, substance misuse, are having existential questions or are stuck in building their identity; who are in the middle of a stressful life transition, are having family issues, issues in work and/or school, difficulty with self-esteem or social skills, grief, or loss of a relationship.
Everyone experiences wounds in life, be it loss, illness, abuse, a difficult relationship, neglect, or any other overwhelming issue. Sometimes even experiences that "should" bring joy like graduating, starting a new job, marriage, or having children can render us feeling like we are in crisis - or stuck. We work with clients to help them get unstuck from feelings of anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity. When we can identify the patterns that keep us in pain, we can begin to develop new ways to cope and manage the stress of our lives.
