Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
Somatic Spiritual Counseling
We are a collective of body- and mindfulness-based coaches and therapists. We offer body-based contemplative counseling, specifically focused on the nervous system; here-and-now awareness; and relationships to ourselves, others, and the natural world, to unwind old patterns from the bottom up, leading to more energy, empowerment, and intimacy. We each have our own specialties (such as PTSD treatment, imaginal work, couples therapy, etc.), yet we share a passion for helping you explore your inner world; integrate difficult experiences; and feel more healthy, whole, and nourished. Everyone needs support to deepen into our own experience, find regulation and groundedness, and open to showing up as more of ourselves in the world, with the strength and freedom to offer our gifts. We would love to accompany you on your journey!

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client, and that by working together we can help you move toward understanding and healing. Your job is to be curious about yourself. Mine is to inspire and assist you in exploring the unknown, uncomfortable, and unfamiliar. I strive to kindly challenge the way people think, and to be challenged myself. I am honored when asked to be present in challenging times, and work to balance holding room for discomfort while helping you discover how to move forward. My ultimate goal is to help you heal by building upon our respect, honesty, and mindfulness. I approach counseling from an experiential and existential perspective, and integrate attachment, feminist, and narrative therapies. My training includes EFT, Gestalt, MI, and DBT. I love counseling young adults, and have worked in school settings for 15 years. I also greatly enjoy working with couples. I'm active in LGBTQIA+ and polyamorous communities. I find joy in helping clients explore and heal, no matter what journey you find yourself on! I look forward to connecting with you. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, older adults, couples, relationship issues, life transitions, multicultural concerns, members of LGBTQIA+ communities, and polyamorous individuals, couples, and families.

The Journey to Your Internal Compass Starts with One Step. We cannot control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond. It takes courage to seek help for personal struggles. Therapy is like having a compass. The compass provides a sense of safety for travelers as they know they can rely on it to always point them in the right direction. With a compass—any compass—we can always pause for a moment in time and take stock of where we are so that we can continue to grow and change. All of us must change course from time to time because what we are doing isn’t working. If you are struggling with addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or trauma, allow me the honor to walk alongside you as you take the steps to the authentic you and discover your internal compass. I use evidence-based treatments tailored to individual needs to help clients attain and maintain long-term sobriety, improve relationships and well-being. I offer a safe and confidential environment on telehealth software. Healing happens within relationships and it's crucial you find a therapist you connect with. Call or email me today. Let’s walk this journey together.

Emily Seekings
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with six years of experience, my work is dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and young adults from all backgrounds navigate life's challenges. Whether you're working through trauma, a mental health diagnosis, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, family or social conflict, or a difficult life transition, you don't have to face it alone. My specialties include PTSD and trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, mood disorders, personality disorders, and adjustment disorders. Beyond diagnosis, I also support patients with stress management, self-esteem, social skills, coping skill development, and crisis intervention. Wherever you are in your journey, my goal is to be a compassionate, trustworthy partner who meets you exactly where you are, because you deserve to feel heard, empowered, and confident in your growth. Collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care is at the heart of everything I do. Each of our sessions is built on authenticity and compassion, and I tailor my approach to your unique situation and needs so that what we work on together feels meaningful and relevant to your life. You can expect a space that is nonjudgmental and genuinely supportive. Using an integrated therapeutic approach, we'll work through life's hardships in a way that honors your experiences and builds on your existing strengths. The goal is for you to feel understood, capable, and empowered to create lasting, meaningful change. My path to this work was shaped by a deeply personal experience during graduate school, where I encountered hardship, judgment, and misunderstanding from professional counselors based on my own identities. Rather than diminish my passion, that experience ignited it, clarifying exactly the kind of therapist I wanted to be: one who shows up with full authenticity and compassion for every person who walks through the door. Working with children, adolescents, and young adults has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. These times taught me that even one person, with genuine positivity and empathy, can make a meaningful difference for someone who has never had that kind of relationship before. This belief grounds my work every day. I bring an open-minded perspective to each session because I believe you hold the key to overcoming the challenges you've faced. My role is to walk alongside you as you find it. Outside of sessions, you'll find me coloring, tackling puzzles, playing board games, or heading outdoors for an adventure. Staying active and creative keeps me grounded, and I bring that same energy and curiosity into the care I provide.
Whole Connection
At Whole Connection we take Medicaid and work on a sliding scale. We provide high quality, accessible psychotherapy to Boulder County. Our team is made up of skilled therapists who provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy. In addition to outpatient therapy we offer a Trauma Recovery and Care program. Our Trauma Recovery and Care program is designed for individuals who are struggling to take control of their lives because they feel dictated by feelings that are deeply connected to their past. If you have been diagnosed with PTSD or you suspect that PTSD is underlying your current symptoms, this could be for you. We believe that all people should have access to Therapy, by clinicians and interns who are continually trained and educated and who are also taken care of (not overworked). In doing so we try and meet the needs of those of the community who come to see us by either sliding our fees or accepting medicaid insurance. Lastly we aim to provide free and affordable trainings for the larger community and clinicians to continue to learn and grow. We also take Victim's Compensation.
Valley Compass family Counseling
Hello, I'm Elissa. Life can be challenging, and managing relationships can sometimes feel overwhelming. But you don't have to face these difficulties alone. Feelings of loneliness, loss of purpose, distance from loved ones, and grief over lost loved ones or unfulfilled dreams are common experiences. In children, behaviors often signal underlying struggles they are facing. I utilize a client-centered, solution-focused approach, incorporating techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. For children, I also employ play therapy, which has proven effective in addressing their unique needs. These methods help you develop new tools for your 'Life Tool Box,' empowering you to navigate life's challenges more effectively. I hold a Master's degree (MA) and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. My areas of specialization include family relationships, children's mental and behavioral health, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, and trauma. With my experience and expertise, I aim to create a supportive and understanding environment where you can feel heard and validated. Working with me means embarking on a journey towards healing and growth. Whether through telehealth or in-person sessions at my Alamosa office, I am here to support you every step of the way. If you are ready to move forward, please reach out to set up an appointment. Together, we can work towards a brighter, more fulfilling future.

You and your life isn’t one note. You are multifaceted and the demands you face happen to be as well – particularly when you are a student. Currently, the sound-track of your life has moved away from the sounds of a harmonious symphony -or maybe from an upbeat pop song- to something more unnerving and stressful (like the alarm you use to wake up to in the morning or the background music in a horror film—building tension, bracing yourself from some known or unknown threat). It makes sense that life has been overwhelming -increased responsibilities and life demands alone would contribute to this feeling. Add fears about the future, a recent breakup, challenging relationship dynamics with family, and/or other stressors and you might find yourself tipping the scales of your emotional bandwidth. I help students focus on the unique aspects of their lives that are no longer serving them – with empathy, tools, problem-solving, and emotional healing and growth. I believe you can have a richer and higher-quality of life– free from the overwhelming influence of your current life demands, harmful past experiences, poor modeling, and environmental toxicities (psychological). In many ways, it's a hard time to be a human being. Feelings of isolation, depression, anxiety, and directionlessness are all exceedingly common in our culture. Most of us are connected with very few people who can be role models and lead by example. Therapy can be a powerful force of change in your life if you are willing to look inside deeply and address what isn't working for you. Having a therapist who can guide this process for you is a gift. If you know the way you are showing up is not working for you, that's a great place to start therapy from. I am passionate about working with neurodivergence, relationship issues, spirituality, men's issues, and personal growth. I blend a warm presence with a direct, straight-up style of communication that helps you access what is going on inside of you and feel supported there. My approach blends Gestalt, IFS, mindfulness, humor, and radical self-responsibility. I would love to hear from you about what you are looking to get out of therapy. Call, text, or email to schedule a consultation call :)
