I am a believer that we are all interconnected. Our relationships matter most to our wellbeing. And while we are living in a time where we are easily able to connect with one another, we have also never been so isolated and alone. The messages we receive from our greater systems often are at odds with what I know contribute to our wellbeing. Because of that we can often feel stuck, less than, or constantly hustling for “that thing.” We can end up chasing the wrong thing and find ourselves perpetually behind or inadequate. Our culture often places so much emphasis on outcomes, appearance, and external or material things. I sincerely believe that they are often at the root of our unhappiness. We often are doing the thing we think will help us but it ultimately harms us! We are doing it wrong. Together we will explore the often painful and uncomfortable spaces within and work from an Inside-Out approach. In doing so, we find that the storms tend to be more universal, we see our common humanity, we develop more self compassion and compassion and empathy for others. When we are our authentic selves, we become more free and our sessions will include plenty of laughing even as we dive into the parts that feel hard. We were never meant to do this life alone. And yet – so many of us are often sold on false narratives that “it’s just you” or have been invalidated, shamed, or traumatized by oppressive systems on the larger scale or within our own homes. My pride in the work is to help you become your best self, the one who is not merely living, but the one who is truly alive. Feeling it all, skin in the game, open to heartbreak, receptive to joy. Facing our pain is not easy (I know this well!). But I know deeply that when we do the right kind of hard, our efforts are fruitful beyond measure. Let’s face this together.

Hi, I'm Michael, I understand that tackling life's challenges can feel daunting. We can feel overwhelmed, and not sure where to start. Whether you are going through a tough time or have been grappling with an ongoing mental health concern, therapy can be a tool to help you learn more about yourself and develop strategies to better manage these challenges. Prior to going into private practice I worked in college counseling for 5 years so I am familiar with the unique challenges college students face in managing their mental health while in school. In working with me, clients can expect to have a warm and non-judgmental space where they can work through personal challenges as well as work towards goals and areas of growth. Outside of work I enjoy catching a horror movie, hiking, and spending time with my diva of a cat. Some of my areas of clinical interest include, relationship and family issues, college counseling, trauma, anxiety, non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, substance use, grief & loss, and depression. I have a passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and have experience providing safe and affirming therapy for trans and non-binary clients. Finding a therapist that is a good fit for you is so important. If you are interested in learning more about me and my approach to therapy please reach out and we can schedule a free 15 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi! As a clinically-trained therapist, I want you to know that the struggles you face and the traumas you have experienced do not have to define you. You have the ability to create a new path for yourself, to live the life you really want to live. I would love to help you create that life. As a Christian counselor, I believe God created perfection and placed it all in the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, sin entered the picture and people have been struggling with the effects of sin ever since. Sometimes that struggle is beyond our resources and understanding. We need to have someone help us through life's troubles. I work with adults, couples, and teenagers. I am interested in helping my clients deal with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, spiritual issues, marriage issues, trauma, and others. My husband and I have been in church ministry for over 40 years. We've seen a lot. While I am passionate about my own spiritual walk, I do respect the journey each person is on. It is not my place to dictate to you how your walk should look. God is big enough to handle that part all by himself. I am married to a pastor, have two adult children, and one son-in-law. I dearly love spending time with my family and sometimes try to do a craft project.

Who knew it would be so difficult to make it on your own, develop new relationships, and face the stresses of your late teens, 20s or 30s? Addressing struggles as you become an adult can present you with immediate and urgent challenges related to family, relationships, money, work, school, and confusion with your overall life path. This period of time is filled with moving from one place to another, sometimes one of familiarity to another one that feels totally foreign. Shifting responsibilities and demands at school or work can certainly cause confusion, self-doubt, and feeling overwhelmed. With these often turbulent years as a backdrop, you might begin to experience new distress that you’ve never felt before or knew existed. The onset of several mental health conditions typically show-up or are now seen as a problem during this time. Many have found that by working with me, they're able to tackle these unfamiliar and unhealthy events head on. This important life stage sets the foundation for the rest of your life; don't feel like you have to go it alone. I founded Grandview Therapy and Consulting, LLC. to provide individual therapy to those grappling with the challenges of adulthood. If you believe I may be a good fit to start you on a path of wellness, I encourage you to visit my website.

College can be an exciting time, but it can also bring new pressures, uncertainty, and challenges. I work with college students and young adults who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, academic difficulties, life transitions, and questions about identity and belonging. Whether you are struggling to keep up with the demands of school, wondering if ADHD or autism may be affecting your life, adjusting to greater independence, or exploring your gender or other aspects of your identity, I provide a thoughtful and affirming space to better understand what is happening and what may help. My approach begins with listening. I take the time to understand you as a whole person rather than rushing to a diagnosis or treatment plan. Depending on your needs, I offer comprehensive psychiatric assessment, therapy, medication management, and adult autism evaluations. Together, we can develop a plan that supports both your mental health and your goals for the future.

Are you having trouble with falling and staying asleep? Are you feeling anxious and overwhelmed? I specialize in working with people who are having trouble sleeping, who are experiencing anxiety, and who are going through reproductive transitions or who are experiencing distress related to their reproductive health (e.g., PMDD, pregnancy, postpartum, infertility). In my work, I aim to cultivate a safe space to hold and honor your emotions, while also providing you with new coping tools to help you process your emotions, get some distance from your thoughts, and help you engage with your life. To do this, I use a blend of evidence-based psychotherapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

As an outpatient therapist, I use trauma-informed, patient-centered, and strengths-based approaches to help adolescents, adults, and parents. My specialties include anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, executive functioning difficulties, self-esteem concerns, women's issues, parenting stress, and major life transitions when you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain. Together, we build self-awareness, develop effective coping skills, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, and help you move toward feeling more grounded, confident, and empowered in your life. Our work together happens in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment, as I believe in creating a compassionate, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship where every person feels seen, heard, and valued. This allows me to be a trusted and understanding partner in your healing journey, meeting you where you are and supporting you as you work toward your goals. I look forward to helping you build insight and create meaningful change in your life through our work. Before becoming a therapist, my path began with supporting adolescents with diverse learning, emotional, and behavioral needs in educational settings. These experiences deepened my commitment to providing compassionate and individualized care that recognizes each person's unique story and strengths. I bring this background in mental health counseling and special education to each session, creating a space where patients feel supported, understood, and empowered in their growth. Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, practicing yoga, and cooking. I value opportunities to slow down, stay present, and find balance through activities that support creativity, mindfulness, and connection.

I became a therapist because I genuinely want to provide a space for people to show up just as they are. You don’t need to feel a certain way, say anything specific, or meet any goal on my timeline. When we can sit back and accept ourselves as we are, we begin to hear things we couldn’t while trying to fix or fight parts of ourselves. I believe even the most challenging parts of us have protective purposes—they deserve curiosity, not shame. I work from a place of intuition and connection more than a strict model or method. I believe in being direct and encouraging you to take the risk of getting uncomfortable. At the same time, I’ll meet you with real empathy, patience, and compassion—plus a bit of humor or lightness when it feels right. Finding the right therapist is hard—especially one who truly sees your full, authentic self. If anything you’ve read resonates, I’d love to connect. Reach out for a free consultation and we can see if this is the space you’ve been looking for.

As a Clinical Social Work Intern, I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, stress management, and relationship challenges for adults and adolescents. Together, we'll navigate excessive worry and fear, persistent sadness, emotional regulation, self-esteem concerns, identity exploration, and relationship and family difficulties. No matter what you’re facing, I foster a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore your past and current experiences, helping you understand yourself and cope with your challenges in a way that's unique and specific to you. I believe in autonomy, collaboration, transparency, and the importance of human relationships, values that help me be a trustworthy teammate in session, one who understands that healing is not linear and doesn't happen in solitude. I look forward to learning from you and the experiences you bring to our work together. During our sessions, I create a space where you feel supported, seen, and encouraged to explore your deepest self, shaping both the decisions ahead and the actions you take today. That work is grounded in cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and patient-centered, trauma-informed care, so your experiences, identity, strengths, and needs are honored throughout our time together. You'll find a collaborative, encouraging environment where your life experience becomes a tool for understanding yourself, navigating challenges, and building coping skills that lead toward meaningful change. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as we identify recurring patterns and build a plan for change that feels authentic and achievable to you. Together, we'll draw on evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy to support that process. What drove me to becoming a therapist was my own experiences with mental health, understanding my identity, and navigating life's unexpected challenges, which gave me firsthand insight into how difficult it can be to make sense of our emotions, experiences, and sense of self while trying to move forward. My experiences deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered, and identity- and culturally affirming care, so that you feel seen, accepted, and supported. Empathy, curiosity, and an understanding that healing and growth look different for everyone are what I bring to our work together. Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with family, friends, and my dog, Tank. Tank and I love to go on walks, hikes, and snuggle during a good TV show. I’m also a big foodie and love to try new restaurants and coffee shops! My perfect Saturday includes getting a morning workout in, a coffee run, and finding a nice spot to read a book.

When Your Brain Never Really Leaves Campus You can be successful in academia and still feel like you’re barely keeping up. Maybe you’re a graduate student staring at a dissertation you somehow both think about constantly and avoid opening. A faculty member juggling teaching, research, service, advising, and the nagging feeling that you should be doing more. Or a campus professional who spends the day supporting everyone else and gets home with very little left for yourself. You’re capable. You care deeply about what you do. And your brain is tired. The people I work with often recognize themselves in thoughts like: “My brain never shuts off.” “I’m always behind, no matter how much I accomplish.” “I overthink every email, decision, and piece of feedback.” “I know I need boundaries, but I feel guilty setting them.” “I’m exhausted, but resting makes me anxious.” “Everyone else seems to know what they’re doing.” “I keep thinking I should be able to handle this.” Therapy for Busy Brains in High-Pressure Academic Spaces I work with graduate and doctoral students, faculty, researchers, administrators, and campus professionals navigating anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, people-pleasing, ADHD-style busy brains, difficult transitions, chronic striving, and the pressure to continually perform. Academic environments can make it remarkably easy to confuse your productivity with your worth. There is always another paper to write. Another student who needs something. Another deadline. Another application. Another committee. Another email you could answer before stopping for the day. And when achievement has gotten you this far, doing more can start to feel like the answer to everything. Until it isn't. Insight Is Important. But Knowing Isn't the Same as Doing. You may already understand your patterns exceptionally well. You know you're overthinking. You know the boundary you probably need to set. You know rest would help. You know you can't guarantee the outcome. You know what you'd tell someone else in your exact situation. And then real life happens. That's where I work. My approach is warm, active, collaborative, and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We don't just talk about what you “should” do differently. We get curious about what's happening, reconnect with what matters to you, practice responding differently, notice what happens, and adjust. Expect curiosity, reflection, practical tools, real-life practice, honest feedback, and probably a little humor along the way. Support That Can Fit Academic Life I offer individual online therapy for personalized support and Walk & Talk Therapy for clients who think and process better while moving. I also offer Red Door Signature Groups for people who want a structured place to learn, practice, reflect, receive feedback, and try again around some of the patterns that keep high-achieving people stuck, including overthinking and uncertainty, people-pleasing and boundaries, and productivity and self-worth. Because sometimes you don't need another book, podcast, productivity system, or piece of advice. You need a place to practice what you already know when real life makes it hard. You Don't Have to Have It Figured Out Before You Reach Out You might be wondering whether your problems are “serious enough” for therapy. Or what you'd even talk about. Or how you're supposed to fit one more thing into a schedule that's already ridiculous. You don't need the perfect answer before taking the next step. I offer complimentary consultations so you can meet me, ask questions, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit. Small steps open big doors. As an insight-oriented therapist I operate from the belief that the more we understand about where we have been, the more control we have in where we are going. I take a client-centered approach to therapy, encouraging my clients to bring in what feels most important to them each week. When working with clients, my first priority is establishing a secure, authentic relationship that meets the needs of each individual. We work together to identify patterns of how you relate to yourself and others. We explore where they came from and the purpose they serve in your life. This allows you to identify what you want to change, and together we work to create a life that aligns with who you are.
